CHIN, District Judge.

This is a securities fraud class action against a London-based bank and its former Chief Executive Officer. Plaintiff The City of Sterling Heights Police and Fire Retirement System (the “Retirement System”), on behalf of itself and other similarly situated shareholders, alleges that defendants Abbey National, PLC (“Abbey”), and Ian Haifley violated Sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10b-5 by misrepresenting the health of Abbey’s investment portfolio, in light of its substantial holdings in Enron Corp., Tyco International Ltd.,…
