BECKER, Circuit Judge.

This appeal by Scot A. Reinert (“Reinert”), a state prisoner serving a sentence of life imprisonment for first degree murder, from an order of the District Court denying his petition for a writ of habeas corpus, presents two congeries of issues, one dealing with Miranda rights, and the other with ineffective assistance of counsel. Considering the Miranda issues first, we must evaluate the admissibility of three statements made by Reinert when he was being transported to the hospital by emergency medical technicians (“EMTs”), accompanied by police…
