Mike Allen appeals pro se from the district court’s judgment affirming the Commissioner’s denial of his application for supplemental security income. Exercising jurisdiction under 42 U.S.C. § 405(g) and 28 U.S.C. § 1291, we affirm.

I. BACKGROUND

Mr. Allen alleged in his application that as of October 9, 2013, he was disabled due to a back injury. His claim was ultimately denied by an administrative law judge (ALJ) at steps four and five of the five-step sequential evaluation process set forth in 20 C.F.R. § 416.920(a)(4). The ALJ found that…
