Dennis and Linda Pearce, parents and next friends of Alexander Justin Pearce, *856appeal from an adverse judgment entered on a jury verdict in their medical malpractice claim against Dr. Douglas B. Smith and the Cornerstone Clinic for Women. The Pearces claim that Dr. Smith failed to use an electronic fetal heart monitor when he administered the drug Pitocin to Linda Pearce during the delivery of her son, Alexander.
