This is a foreclosure bill to collect on a mortgage of $8000, given in place of an indemnity bond, an alleged debt of $999.52, claimed to have been due from the former firm of Griffith & Co. to Lambert, the retiring partner, under certain transactions which, in other forms, have been litigated in this Court heretofore. The facts relevant to the present issue, so far as they relate to the origin of the demand, are these:
