¶ 1. David Jackson Williams was convicted of murder in the Lafayette County Circuit Court and sentenced to life imprisonment in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Williams appealed, and we assigned this case to the Court of Appeals. After the Court of Appeals affirmed the trial-court judgment, we granted Williams’s petition for writ of cer-tiorari. Finding error in the trial court’s refusal to give an assisted-suicide instruction, we reverse the judgment of the Court of Appeals and the Lafayette County…
