OPINION OF THE COURT
NYGAARD, Circuit Judge.
Christian Bouriez and Montanelle Be-heer B.V. (collectively referred to as “Bouriez”) appeal the District Court’s order compelling arbitration and dismissing their case. We will reverse and remand.

In 1996, Carnegie Mellon University entered into an agreement (the “1996 Agreement”) with Zeta Projects Limited. Under the terms of this Agreement, Zeta Projects would fund certain of Carnegie Mellon’s research projects.
