This case is before us on petition of the accused. An Army general court-martial found him guilty of the wrongful possession of marijuana cigarettes— specified as a violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, Article 134, 50 USC § 728. The convening authority approved the findings and so much of the sentence as provided for dishonorable discharge, total forfeitures and confinement at hard labor for one year, but suspended the execution of the punitive discharge.
