I. INTRODUCTION
This case is before the court on the defendant’s motion for summary judgment. The plaintiff alleges that his employer, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (“FDIC”), discriminated against him on the basis of his age, in violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (“ADEA”), 29 U.S.C. §§ 621 et seq., by not selecting him for one of three vacant positions at the FDIC.
