This suit is brought to reverse a judgment rendered in favor of defendant in error against plaintiff in error for the sum of $20,000. The action was case, for libel. The alleged libel is as follows :
“ Dear Sib: About two months ago the Chicago Brick Manufacturers’ Association was informed by several of its members that a combination of all the crushed stone dealers, and all of the cement manufacturers of the city, had been formed for the purpose of obtaining the passage of an ordinance providing for the sole use of concrete, made from crushed stone and cement, in the building of Chicago…
