This is a suit to recover in behalf of the State of Tennessee and Fentress County an alleged shortage of funds in the office of defendant George L. Stockton, Clerk and Master of the Chancery Court of Fentress County. The period covered is from October 1,1940, when the defendant George L. Stockton was appointed to succeed Maud C. Stockton, to December 4,1944. The case was transferred, .along with, the companion case of State ex rel. v. Maud C.
