In this certified appeal, the defendant, Cecil J., appeals from the judgment of the Appellate Court affirming the trial court’s judgment of conviction of two counts of sexual assault in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-70 (a) (1) and (2) 2 and one count of risk of injury to a child in violation of General Statutes (Rev. to 1997) § 53-21. 3 State v.
