MEMORANDUM AND ORDER
CASTEL, District Judge.
This action was commenced on May 1, 2006 by Canon Inc. (“Canon”) against GCC International Limited, GCC Management Limited, Gatehill International Limited, Q-Imaging (USA) Inc., and TallyGenicom LP (collectively, “defendants”) for infringement of U.S. Patent No. 6,336,018 (the “ ’018 patent”). According to plaintiff Canon, claim 58 of the ’018 patent describes a type of process cartridge- — sometimes called a toner cartridge — for use in an electrophotographic image-forming apparatus, such as a laser printer or facsimile machine.
