I. INTRODUCTION

Plaintiff Gemological Institute of America, Inc., (“GIA”) is a corporation engaged in the business of analyzing and grading diamonds and gemstones. It has instituted this interpleader proceeding to resolve a chattel ownership dispute between defendants Zarian Co., Ltd. (“Zarian”) and S.B. Diamond Corporation (“S.B.”).
