SIMONETT, Justice.

This appeal presents a number of important issues relating to guilty plea negotiations and to the withdrawal of guilty pleas.

Defendant, age 18, was charged with criminal sexual conduct in the third degree and the lesser offense of criminal sexual conduct in the fourth degree for sexually penetrating a 16-year-old girl who allegedly had passed out after consuming too much alcohol.
