This case involves an appeal from a ruling of the district court refusing to grant the appellant’s motion to suppress. We affirm.

FACTS AND PROCEDURAL BACKGROUND

Scott R. DuValt (DuValt) was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped by police for traffic violations and a nonfunctioning taillight. The police had initially encountered the vehicle while conducting surveillance on a house that was being visited by the occupants of the vehicle.
