Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Columbia County (Czajka, J.), rendered July 29, 1996, upon a verdict convicting defendant of the crimes of driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree.
On December 17,1995, Police Officer Charles Appel observed an automobile with high beams heading south on Route 66 in the Village of Chatham, Columbia County.
