My opinion in regard to the act of Congress passed on the 18th of September, 1850, called the Fugitive Slave Act, under which it is contended the petitioners were convicted, was given at the last term of this court. It is not my intention on the present occasion to say anything upon that subject. As my views in regard to it are unchanged, a further discussion of the questions growing out of the act, by me, is wholly unnecessary.…
