This is a suit to recover the amount of two certain promissory notes, one for $4,000 and the other for $3,500, subject to a credit of $1,000. The notes are signed by the “Reclamation Oil Producing Association of Louisana, by J. E. Camatte, President, Vice'President, and Secretary Treasurer.”

Plaintiff, after alleging it was the holder, for value and before maturity, of the notes sued on, and averring demand for payment without avail, further alleged that the defendant association was organized for the purpose of buying and selling oil leases, oil and gas wells, and reclaiming oil and gas…
