Upon its complaint alleging that the defendant Petróleos Mexicanos is “an entity created under and by virtue of the laws of the Eepublic of Mexico ”, Associated Metals and Minerals Corporation obtained an order of attachment and the Sheriff of New York County made a levy thereunder on moneys or property belonging to Petróleos Mexicanos. Property upon which a levy is made pursuant to process of a court issued according to law is in the custody of the law and the court has jurisdiction over such property.
