During the present term the plaintiffs filed their petition in this court, praying that an alternative writ of mandamus issue, directed to Hon. Loyal B. Stearns, judge of the Fourth Judicial District, requiring him to settle and sign a bill of exceptions, or to show cause why he refuses. The Avrit Avas awarded, and the return is iioav before the court, and will be more particularly referred to presently.
