VOLLACK, Justice.

The People filed this petition pursuant to C.A.R. 21, seeking relief in the nature of mandamus and a writ of prohibition against the respondent, Jefferson County District Court. The judge ordered the prosecution to reveal the identity of the confidential informant and ruled that if the prosecution failed to do so, the criminal charges against the defendant would be dismissed. The charges of second degree murder and felony child abuse resulting in death filed against the defendant, Milton Born-With-a-Tooth, arise from the alleged suffocation murder of his three and one-half…
