MEMORANDUM OPINION

I. INTRODUCTION

Plaintiff Kenneth M. Smith (“plaintiff’), an inmate at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center (“VCC”), formerly known as the Delaware Correctional Center, Smyrna, Delaware, filed this civil rights complaint pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983. (D.I. 2) Presently before the court are plaintiffs motion to appoint expert and motion for default judgment as to First Correctional Medical, Inc.
