Defendant was charged with possession of a controlled substance in violation of section 402(c) of the Illinois Controlled Substance Act (111. Rev. Stat. 1989, ch. 561/2, par. 1402(c) (now 720 ILCS 570/402 (West 1992))). The trial court denied defendant’s motion to suppress evidence and after a bench trial found defendant guilty. Defendant appeals the denial of the motion to suppress, alleging the stop and frisk were invalid under Terry v. Ohio (1968), 392 U.S. 1, 20 L. Ed. 2d 889, 88 S. Ct. 1868.
