Plaintiff, a resident of Omaha, Nebraska, entered the employ of the defendant corporation in its Omaha plant in April, 1925. His duties were those of a beef washer. He continued in such employment until the month of December, 1935, when he became totally and permanently disabled as the result of a disease known as “echinococcosis.” On October 16, 1936, he filed a petition in the district court for Douglas county, seeking to predicate a cause of action under the common law, charging the defendant corporation with negligence.
