This is a civil case in which plaintiff filed an action against defendant Ford Motor Company (Ford), alleging that a delivery truck that she operated as an employee of United Parcel Service (UPS) was defective and injured her. At trial, Ford denied that the truck was defective and also contended that plaintiff had been negligent and had contributed to her injuries. The jury concluded that Ford was 85 percent liable and that plaintiff was 15 percent liable. Ford appealed from the judgment entered on the jury’s verdict.
