I. BACKGROUND

Plaintiff Donald Raffaelli commenced this action against his former employer, defendant Advo, Inc., in Milwaukee County Circuit Court alleging three claims: (1) breach of contract for defendant’s failure to pay him severance; (2) violation of Chapter 109 of the Wisconsin Statutes, which authorizes employees in certain cases to recover from employers unpaid wages, penalties and attorney fees, also for defendant’s failure to pay him severance; and (3) defamation.
