LAY, Circuit Judge:

Appellant Arthur G. Muegler, Jr., was found guilty in federal district court for committing intentional fraud under Missouri law. A jury awarded David J. Ben-ing and Alfred W. Harre (“Creditors”) compensatory and punitive damages. Muegler sought to discharge his debt to Creditors via bankruptcy proceedings in Arizona. Creditors filed a complaint, arguing that the debt owed to them by Mue-gler was procured by fraud and was thus nondischargeable under 11 U.S.C. § 523(a)(2)(A).
