Suzanne K. Graves was terminated during her 12-month probationary period with the State of Washington Department of Game. She sued, alleging retaliatory discharge, hostile work environment, and unjust termination due to sexual discrimination or inadequate supervision. The court dismissed the retaliatory discharge claim and directed a verdict for the State on the negligent supervision claim. By special verdict, the jury found for the State on the sexual discrimination claim but was unable to reach a decision on the unjust termination claim.
