The defendants, Superskate, Inc., and Jack C. Collins, appeal from a judgment entered on a jury verdict awarding $85,000 to the minor plaintiff, Candice Brooke Nolen, who brought the action by and through her mother, Angela K. Miller, as next friend.1 Nolen was injured at the skating rink owned by Superskate; Collins is the president, a stockholder, and an employee of Superskate.
