OPINION OF THE COURT

CAREY, Chief Judge:

A military judge sitting as a special court-martial found appellant guilty, consistent with his plea, of absence without leave (AWOL) in violation of Article 86, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. § 886 [hereinafter UCMJ], The convening authority approved the adjudged sentence to a bad-conduct discharge, confinement for one hundred days, forfeiture of $767 pay per month for four months, and reduction to Private El. *886The case is before the court for review pursuant to Article 66, UCMJ, 10 U.S.C. § 866.
