This writ of error originated in an action brought by the trustee in bankruptcy of the Thomas & Pike Coal Company against the International Trust Company, seeking to recover amounts received by the International Trust Company from the bankrupt within four months prior to the filing of the petition in bankruptcy, and the receipts of which were alleged to be of a preferen*782tial character.
