Defendant Michigan Consolidated Gas Company appeals as of right from a judgment for plaintiff Mary Ritchie in the amount of $560,-000 plus interest entered on March 12, 1985, after a jury trial in Washtenaw Circuit Court. The jury, by its verdict, determined that plaintiff had an implied contract which prohibited her discharge except for just cause and that defendant did not have just cause to dismiss plaintiff. Defendant also appeals from an April 10, 1986, opinion and order which denied defendant’s motions for judgment notwithstanding the verdict (jnov), new trial, and relief from judgment.…
