This appeal concerns an effort on the part of the City Council of Austin to change the name of “19th Street” to “Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard.”

On April 10, 1975, the City Council of Austin by formal motion changed the name of 19th Street to Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard. Thereafter, appellees Marion B. Findlay, Harris L. Johnson, and Bert Johnson, individually and as representatives of the members of the “West 19th Street Association,” and other property owners fronting that street, filed suit in the district court of Travis County against the City of Austin, appellant.
