The defendant, Rupert A. Weeks, was found guilty by a Superior Court jury of unlawful possession of a firearm without a licence, in violation of G. L. c. 269, § 10(a), and not guilty of unlawful possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card (G. L. c. 269, § 10[h]), and assault by means of a dangerous weapon (G. L. c. 265, § 15B[¿>]). He then waived his right to a jury trial on the charge of carrying a firearm without a license, subsequent offense.
