This was an action of ejectment, brought by Van Court, in the Bureau Circuit Court, at the January term, 1857, to recover the possession of the south-east quarter of section 1, town 15 north, range 13 east, in Bureau county. On the trial of this cause in the Circuit Court, the appellee read in evidence a regularly connected title from the United States Government, sufficient to authorize a recovery of the premises in controversy, unless his action is barred by the statute of limitations. The land had been offered for sale in 1840, for the taxes of 1839, and for the want of bidders was stricken off to the State. It was sold to Aaron E.
