We copy from appellant's brief the following substantially correct statement of the nature and result of the suit:
This suit was brought August 14, 1912, by the Troy Laundry Machinery Company, Limited, of Chicago, Ill., against J. R. Richie to recover the amount of 15 promissory notes, of date August 26, 1911, executed by him and payable to its order — one for $50, four for $75 each, and ten for $100 each, bearing 6 per cent. interest per annum from date, and containing the usual provision for payment of 10 per cent. additional as attorney's fees, in the event of suit — and also to recover the…
