On the 19th day of October, 1889, The Grand Mesa Land and Cattle Company of Colorado executed a trust deed, whereby it conveyed to E. L. Kellogg, as trustee, certain real estate to secure the payment of its two promissory notes, made on the same day, for $5,382.05 and $3,487.55, respectively, and *317payable to tbe order of Sam G. Gill three months after date.
