Edward and Clara Kolakowski brought suit in the circuit court of Cook County, claiming damages for injuries suffered by Edward (plaintiff) resulting from the alleged negligence of defendants, Drs. David C. Voris, K. S. Parameswar and Leonard R. Smith. Mercy Hospital (hereafter referred to as defendant) was sued in separate counts based on the doctrine of res ipsa loquitur.
