This is an action on the ease, brought by Mary E. Darke against the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway Company and the Chicago, Evanston and Lake Superior Railway Company, to recover damages to certain real property of the plaintiff; caused by the construction, maintenance and operation of a line of railway near the same. The plaintiff, as it appears, at and prior to the construction of the railway, was the owner in fee of two lots on the west side of Chicago avenue, in the village of South Evanston, having a frontage on the avenue of one hundred feet, each lot having thereon a dwelling…
