This is a class action originally brought by thirteen migrant farmworkers, initiated by complaint filed August 30, 1983.1 Plaintiffs allege entitlement to relief under two statutes. First, plaintiffs seek recovery of unpaid minimum wages and overtime pay plus liquidated damages, under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), 29 U.S.C. § 201 et. seq. Second, some of the plaintiffs seek relief for themselves and a class of others similarly situated under the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act (AWPA), 29 U.S.C. § 1801 et. seq.
