FOTI, J.
The defendant, Clarence Marsala, appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered after a jury trial, of larceny in the fourth degree in violation of *137General Statutes § 53a-125 (a).1 On appeal, the defendant claims that the evidence presented at trial was insufficient to sustain his conviction. The defendant also claims that the trial court improperly (1) excluded evidence concerning the defense of necessity, (2) instructed the jury and (3) denied his request for new counsel. We affirm the judgment of the trial court.
