This is an action brought jointly by the Camden Fire Insurance Company, a foreign corporation, assignee of Hipe Dobb, and by the Monarch Fire Insurance Company, a foreign corporation, assignee of Edward Shatney, as plaintiffs, against Jacob Peterman, doing business as Pine Street Furniture Company, as defendant, to recover damages claimed to have been suffered by Dobb and Shatney, respectively, as a result of the alleged negligent setting on fire by a gasoline stove of a dwelling-house owned by Dobb and occupied by Shatney.
