OPINION
TYLER, District Judge.
Plaintiff brought an action against defendant Carlson Wade in 1971 in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, Los Angeles Division, on the grounds of copyright infringement, unfair competition, conversion, and quantum meruit. Although served with process in mid-1972, Wade did not appear in the California action, and plaintiff secured a default judgment against him in or about March, 1973.
