Appellant Paul W. Kimmell perfected this appeal from the district court’s rendition of summary judgment in favor of appellee Burnet County Appraisal District in a dispute over ad valorem taxes. 1 While the appeal was pending, Kimmell filed a “Petition for Redress of Grievance and Notice of Removal” (appendix A) in the Common Law Court for the Republic of Texas to remove the cause from the Burnet County district court.
