By her original complaint, plaintiff sought separate maintenance from her husband, Barnett Berniker, and a diyision of the community property. In pursuance of this latter purpose, plaintiff joined her father-in-law, Nathan Berniker, as a defendant upon allegations that he held such property in his name and that her husband had so placed it “in order to defeat the claims of judgment creditors.” Defendants filed a joint answer denying the allegations of the complaint. At the conclusion of the trial, plaintiff amended her complaint, thereby seeking a divorce from defendant Barnett Berniker but…
