Christopher Simpson owned a house that he insured through GuideOne Mutual Insurance Company and leased to Michael and Melissa Hunter. The Hunters, on behalf of themselves and their children, brought this suit against Simpson and GuideOne to recover damages for personal injuries and property losses sustained as a result of mold in the house. The Hunters charged both Simpson and GuideOne with negligence and breach of contract in failing to discover and remediate the mold.
