The plaintiff in error, just prior to the time this controversy began, was a citizen and resident of this State, but, on obtaining employment in North Carolina, went there in the early part of February, 1912, and had been gone less than a month when his household furniture was attached, by defendant Graves, for a debt due to him, on the ground that plaintiff in error was a nonresident.
