OPINION

FEDERICI, Justice.

This is an appeal from the judgment of the District Court of Bernalillo County granting an increase in child support payments. Appellant, Sgt. Peterson, is a technical sergeant in the United States Air Force stationed in New Mexico. The parties entered into a marital settlement agreement on April 13, 1980, and a final divorce decree was subsequently entered on April 18, 1980. The agreement provided in part that Sgt.
