This is a medical malpractice action in which a gallstone patient complains of the postoperative care rendered him by his surgeon and hospital. At the close of plaintiff’s case the trial court .directed a verdict in favor of both defendants; a new trial was denied and plaintiff has appealed. The ultimate issue is whether, from the facts established by plaintiff’s evidence, a jury could have found a failure on the part of either the doctor or the hospital to conform to accepted norms of reasonable care.
